Dr. Michael R.
86, of Beach City, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at his home following a period of declining health. He was born in Tresckow, Pa. on April 16, 1927 to the late Michael and Susan (Alasko) Durishin and married May Jane Young on June 7, 1958. She survives. Dr. Durishin was a World War II Army veteran and retired in 1995 from the former Doctors Hospital as the Director of Laboratories and Department of Pathology. He served for many years as a medical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Navarre, Brookside Country Club, Rockwell Springs Trout Club and the American Osteopathic Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Susan Durishin of Cleveland, Richard Durishin of Norwalk, Conn., Michael Durishin of Massillon and Jonathan Durishin of Dublin; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Schwika of Downingtown, Pa.; and nieces, Janine Sgro of Downingtown, Pa. and Sharon Logudic of Conyngham, Pa. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at Noon at Holy Family ParishNavarre Campus with Father Michael Seifert officiating. Family burial will follow in the Foxfield Preserve near Wilmot.
