Sophia A. Cotopolis

Sophia A. (Chrest) Cotopolis
age 84 of Canton, went into the arms of the Lord she loved and served her entire life, peacefully and with grace surrounded by her loving family, Thursday evening. Born in Uhrichsville, Ohio to the late John and Anna Chrest., She was preceded in death by her son, John; brothers, Sam and Doyle; and sister, Mary Ann Rowland. She was a lifelong member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, Philoptochos Women's Society, Sunday School teacher, Silver Liners and Bible Study. Sophia also was a volunteer with Mercy Medical Center for 15 years, Prison Ministry, AGLOW and the Jr. Coterie Club where she was voted 'Woman of the Year.' Sophia led a Christ-centered life that was an inspiration to all who met and knew her. She was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Nick Cotopolis; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bob Ferencz; daughter-in-law, Jenny Cotopolis; grandchildren, Michael (Margo) Cotopolis, Tiffany (Greg) Brock, Courtney Ferencz; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Heather, Ashley; sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Chrest, Wilma Chrest, Mary Cotopolis, Helen Cotopolis, Sharleen Cotopolis; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home with Trisagion Services to be held at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with services to follow at 11, Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Sophia's name may be made to Aultman Hospice, Juvenile Diabetes or the .
