Joyce Elaine Benish
70, of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on July 16, 1943 in Massillon to the late Wayne C. and Garnet L. (Stuck) Herron. She was the strongest, most caring, compassionate person to everyone around her. She always took things as they came to her and she never complained or asked for help so others wouldn't worry. She was the rock of her family and would do everything for others instead of herself. Joyce loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family. Her joys in life were reading books, baking, ceramics and other crafts and every year she loved to be out in the sun planting her garden and flowers around her home. Joyce was a graduate of Washington High School and retired from Nickles Bakery in 2003.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Natasha Broome of Massillon, and Sherri Douglas of Massillon; three grandchildren: Aaron Broome, Brandan Broome and Christopher Douglas all of Massillon; two sisters, Dorothy (Butch) DeBos, Linda (Todd) Kester; four brothers: Jeffery Herron, Donald (Kathy) Herron, Larry (Glenna) Herron and Ronald (Betty) Herron; several nieces and nephews; and longtime family friends, Tim Douglas and Michael Broome. She is also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Victor Benish III; and a sister, Carol Jean Herron.
