Arthur Z. "Buzz" Busby
age 84, of Canton passed away Friday evening Feb. 21, 2014. He was born Aug. 20, 1929 and was raised in Bowerston, Ohio by his parents, the late, Harry W. and Faye (Hines) Busby. He was a carpenter all his life and retired from R.G. Smith Co. with at least 30 years of service as a construction field superintendent. He was quite the craftsman finding special projects in many salvaged treasures. For numerous years Buzz was a coach and proud supporter of the Southwest Mighty Mites youth baseball teams. He also participated in many golf, baseball and bowling leagues. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles McKinley Aerie #2370, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Massillon-North Canton, OH No. 2029 and Carpenters and Joiners of America Union. His greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends who will miss him greatly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Forrest Busby. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Bower) Busby; four sons, Bradley, Brady (Chris), Barry (Debbie) and Brock Busby; seven grandchildren, Laura, Jared, Audrey, Allison, Clayton, Conner and Carter Busby; great grandson, Jase Busby and a niece and nephew.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Buzz's life will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel. There will be time to visit with the family on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30pm. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date at Longview Cemetery in Bowerston, Ohio where his ashes will be buried.
