Daniel Spilker Obituary
age 50, of Dellroy, passed away late Friday night Jan. 28, 2011 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. A son of the late Paul and Donna McKinney Spilker, he was born Dec. 17, 1960 in Canton, Ohio. Dan was a lifelong resident of Dellroy. He worked as an employee of ODOT in Carroll County while also operating as an independent concrete contractor for 25 years. Dan got a lot of enjoyment in life out of golfing and spending time with his loving family. He was a former member of St. Mary's of Morges Catholic Church, attended the Dellroy United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Carroll County VETS Club.
Along with his wife., the former Jeanne Rector, whom he married Feb. 14, 1983, he is survived by a son, Paden (Kara) Spilker of Carrollton; daughter, Alzana (Ron) Nuzzolillo of Dellroy; five grandchildren, Owen, Zander, Laiken Spilker, Isabella and Maria Nuzzolillo; two brothers, Mark (Sharon) Spilker of Carrollton, John Spilker of Canton; three sisters, Paula Erickson of Magnolia, Janice (Bruce) Stout of Lenoir, N.C., Teresa (Alan) Long of Carrollton; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home with Pastor Willard Balint officiating. Burial will follow in Union Valley Cemetery near Dellroy. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
