Etta Maxine Pippi
age 88, of North Canton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 in St. Luke Lutheran Community, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Jeanette, Pa. on Feb. 6, 1925 to the late, Ralph and Georgia Fifield. Maxine was a 1943 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and retired from Dr. Andreas Ahbel's office following 30 years as office manager. She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cooking. Her grandchildren were her life and she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Halter and Alfreda Roush.
Survivors include her husband, Orfeo P. Pippi, whom she married in 1959; two sons, Donald Gensley and James (Lisa) Gensley, both of North Canton; her daughter, Kathleen (Guy) Roeper of West Farmington, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason Roeper, Trisha Growe, Teren Muchoney, Travis and Matthew Gensley; great grandchildren, Tyler and Aiden Roeper, Owen, Aiden and Lilly Growe and Kate Muchoney. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and caregivers at St. Luke Lutheran Community.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW, with the Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.
