I. Ray Betz
Age 84, of Minerva, died Mon., Nov. 24, 2014 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1930 to Mervin and Anna (Fogle) Betz. He is retired from B&R Auto Wrecking where he had been the owner for many years. He is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Franklin, a US Air Force Veteran and member of the Carrollton VFW Post #2291 and the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Clorene (Whitlow) Betz who died in 1992; and two brothers, Bernard and Donald Betz. He is survived by a daughter, Julie (Charles) Anderson of Alliance; three sons, David (Lura) Betz of Minerva, Robert (Tina) Betz of Minerva and Ernest Weston of Minerva; sister, Ila June Ramser of Minerva; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Joe Ertl officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at
