Robert W. Slagle
80 years old, of 207 Spanish Moss Rd., Ridgeland, S.C., died after a long illness on Dec. 3, 2013 at home with his wife.
Bob is survived by his wife of 15 years, Brenda K. Slagle; sister, Lucille Schwallie; previous wife, Shirley Severin; five children, Lucinda Dulcie (Chuck Dulcie), Robert S. Slagle, Casondra Slagle, Crystal Hailett, and Mary Ellen Dickman (Jamie Dickman); two stepchildren, Michele Sharrer (Tom Sharrer) and James Gray; grandchildren, Bobby Jean Fitzharris Dulcie, Rocky Slagle, Tiffany Slagle, Luca Cirrone, Emma Jenkins, Abby Hailett, Canon Dickman and Gatlin Dickman; great-grandchildren, Kenyon Fitzharris, Samantha Slagle, Hailey Slagle, Mason Slagle, Riley Jo Jenkins, Abby Sharrer, Alexandra Sharrer, Payton Gray; nieces and nephews, many friends and additional family members. Bob was predeceased in death by his mother, Emma Weimer; his father, Ralph Slagle; his brother, Ralph Slagle; his brother-in-laws, Lester Schwallie and Paul Sogorka; his granddaughter Madison Hailett and great grandchildren, Natalia and Drayden.
Bob attended Canton McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob retired from Republic Engineered Steel after 40 years of service. He and his wife moved to Bluffton, S.C. in 2000 where he was employed at Hilton Head BMW as a courtesy driver until June of 2013. Condolences may be made at: www.burroughsfh. com.
