Ruth L. Ecrement
age 98, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 in Canton Christian Home. She was born Oct. 15, 1915 in Glasgow, Ky., daughter to the late Enos and Annie (Vaughn) Shank. She was a member of Perry Christian Church, Perryette's Sunday School Class and retired in 1975 from Stern & Mann following 28 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Ecrement; brother, Comer Shank; sisters, Myrtie Naetzel and Frances C. Kessell; stepbrother, Enos Shank Jr. and stepsister, Alma Devinney. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Ed) Rainey of Massillon; grandchildren, Greg (Dee) Tritt and Thomas (Katie) Tritt; great grandsons, Jason and Christopher Tritt; stepsister, Barbara Gates.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Canton Christian Home with Chaplain Ron Iwanusa and Rev. Robert Walther officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. in Canton Christian Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Canton Christian Home.
