Thomas E. Scheetz Obituary
Thomas E. Scheetz

65, of Perry Township, died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 9th surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. Tom is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debra (Davis) Scheetz; his two daughters, Emily (Carl) Mazzone and Molly (Andy) Kaplan; sister, Jean (Steve) Shrider; brother, Mike (Sue) Scheetz; eight nieces and nephews; and one beloved grandson, Benjamin. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Donna (Miller) Scheetz.

Tom was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School and also attended the University of Akron. Tom was a computer programmer who worked at the Hoover Company for 28 years and later The Health Plan. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, and was very active in his daughters' lives as both a coach and fan. Tom was a history buff who liked to read and travel. He was also a lover of classic rock and an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. One of his favorite hobbies was watching football, despite his 50 year tortured relationship cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. Tom will be greatly missed by friends and family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A celebration of Tom's life will be held Saturday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with calling hours one hour prior. The family would like to thank Mercy Hospice for their compassion and support at the end of his life. Donations can be made in Tom's memory to Stark Parks in honor of time enjoyed there with his dog Lucy, or to Mercy Hospice.
