William "Bill" Yatsko
88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 8, 2017. He was born in Massillon on February 9, 1929, the son of the late John and Suzana (Elavsky) Yatsko. Bill retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 29 years. He also worked many 2nd jobs through the years including barbering and laying flooring. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years, much of that time he spent as a cook on the USS Evergreen. Bill was a member of St. John's UCC in Massillon where he volunteered on the consistory and spent countless hours working on the church's lawn and flower gardens. He enjoyed gardening and canning, and was known for his canned red beets and dill pickles. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Whether he was attending his grandchildren's sporting or school events, or helping his kids with their yards and houses, he never missed an opportunity to let his loved ones know how much they meant to them. Bill never met a stranger. Those who knew him will miss his great sense of humor, his awesome smile, and his willingness to help anyone.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who survive him including his wife of 64 years, Donna (Gooding) Yatsko, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Becky Yatsko of Wooster, daughter Linda Ullum of Massillon, daughter and son-in-law Judy and Don Harding of Bellville, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Mike Miller of Wilmot, sisters Rose Rowlands, Irene Klever, Eleanore Blackman, brother Edward Yatsko, grandchildren Stephen (Janice) Yatsko, Michelle (Eric) Wymer, Christina Ullum, Paul (Elizabeth) Harding, Brian Harding, Zachary Miller and Joshua Miller, Stacey Jones, Eric (Sara) Jones, great grandchildren Kristiana Yatsko, Eriqa and Isaac Wymer, Mason and Liam Jones, Madison and Nathan Mann, friends, nieces, nephews and extended family.
