Virginia M. Shaw
Virginia M. Shaw (nee Bennett) It is with great sadness

"Hand in hand again"
for ourselves and great joy for Heaven that we announce that Virginia May Shaw, 85, entered into Heaven on January 28, 2008. A lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, Virginia was born on April 24, 1922, in Kenmore. She was the youngest of three children. She loved school and being with her siblings. Virginia worked in the Probate Court of Akron until she met the love of her life, Harold Shaw. On May 29, 1947, the two were married, the same day as the wedding of her beloved brother. Harold and Virginia had five children and shared many wonderful memories. Virginia served as PTA president of her children's school and also secretary of Immaculate Conception school. Virginia moved to Doylestown in 1980, where she spent the rest of her life. She was devastated at her husband's sudden passing in 1981, but took on a new role as a doting grandmother to her nine grandchildren. She loved crocheting and was a devout Catholic throughout her life. Virginia was an active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, never leaving her front row seat vacant on a Sunday morning. She was involved in the Bible study and served on various committees. Virginia had a big heart and would give to any charity that sent her a letter. Virginia will be met in Heaven by her husband Harold E. Shaw, brother Leonard, sister Anna, parents Harry and Julia and many beloved friends. She will be missed dearly by her five children: Julie (Charlie) Miller, Patricia Wilson, Peg (Gary) Cahoon, Nancy (George) Rodway and Michael (Joyce) Shaw; her nine grandchildren: Nathan (Tish) Miller, Shawn (Betsy) Miller, Jamie (Jason) Rexroat, Christopher Cahoon, Patrick Wilson, Courtney Cahoon, Josie Wilson, Joel Wilson and Kelsey Rodway; and her three great-grandchildren: Aiden Miller, Dionte Wilson and Kallie Rexroat. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church at 4022 Johnson Road, Norton, Fr. James G. Maloney and Fr. John Hengle, con-celebrants. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Habitat for Humanity or St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
