Ralph Charles
age 89 of Louisville, passed away Thursday evening at Aultman Hospital. Ralph was born on April 30, 1922 to the late Adam and Anna (Sedar) DeWalt. He retired from the Timken Company after 43 years of service as a machinist. He was a school bus driver for St. Benedict's School and coached little league baseball. Ralph was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge #233. He also was an avid golfer and bowler. Ralph was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia DeWalt who passed away Oct. 5, 2007; brothers, Sterling and Bernard DeWalt; sisters, Ruth Wade and Dorothy Lochart.
Ralph is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Debbie DeWalt of Canton, Dianne (Tim) Walker of Louisville; sons and daughters-in-law, David (Dee Ann) Dewalt of Louisville, Dennis DeWalt and Daniel (Vicky) DeWalt, both of Canton; sister, Mary Cordary of Florida; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Ralph's life will be held Monday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville with Fr. David Menegay celebrant. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2–4 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home. Interment will take place following the services at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #50, 9540 McCallum Avenue NE., Alliance OH 44601.
