Minnie M. Bossart
age 95, of Canton passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. She was born March 3, 1917 in Carrollton, Ohio to the late James and Helen Henderson. Minnie was co-owner and operator of the Bossart's General Store in Cairo, Ohio for 18 years and Bossart Orchard on Middlebranch for many years. She was a lifetime and active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton with the Women's Guild and Mission Club she was also an active member of the MacGregor Bagpipe Band. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sons, Charles and Thomas; two brothers and seven sisters.
Minnie is survived by her sons, William (Marilynn) Bossart of Houston, Texas and Danny (Sherry) Bossart of Canton; daughter, Frances 'Fran' (Hershel) Barefield of Canton; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister, Maryann Downing of Sherrodsville, Ohio; and two very dear sisters-in-law that gave a lot of extra care and love to Minnie, Norma Reigle and Mary Piccari. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lamplight Stonecrossing and Mercy Hospice for all of the kindness and care given to Minnie and her family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Christ the Servant Parish, Our Lady of Peace, 833 39th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Capital Fund at Christ the Servant Our Lady of Peace.
