47, of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, surrounded by her family, after a lifelong battle with end-stage renal failure and complications from metastatic colon cancer. Born Sept. 23, 1965, in Massillon, a daughter to the former mayor of Massillon, Edgar L. and Betty J. (Arthur) Lash, Elizabeth relocated with her family to Chevy Chase, Md. in 1977, where she graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School and had also attended Montgomery College in Rockville, Md. She was Vice President and co-owner - along with her brothers and sister, of the Servall Group Demolition & Asbestos Removal Co. She enjoyed the Washington, D.C. area; loved her travels to Atlantic City and Williamsburg; had a passion for vintage hats; enjoyed concerts, music, films, the Washington Redskins, Michael Jackson and spending time with her family. Together with her sons and sister, Elizabeth returned to Massillon in 2009. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon and the former Massillon Club.
Preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ed, Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Stephen D. and Anthony S. Dixon, and her sister, Vanessa Lash, all of the home; her brothers, Byron (Cheryl) Lash of Dalton and Grant (Cindy) Lash of Massillon; nieces, Allison, Lindsey, Lisa, Laura, Leanne and Kate; nephew, Christopher; two great-nieces and three great-nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In addition, they offer their most sincere thanks to the physicians and staff of Morningstar Hematology & Oncology, and Aultman Dialysis Center for the professional and compassionate care Elizabeth received. The family has also suggested memorial contributions in their sister's name made in care of any area First Merit Bank. Her smile will be greatly missed, always and forever!
