Stephen J. Mikstay
The monarch of the Mikstay family passed away July 26, 2013. Born in Budapest, Hungary on Sept. 9, 1922, to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Kibini) Mikstay. Age 90, went home to be with Jesus Christ his savior, following his precious wife of 65 years, Doris M. Mikstay, R.N. thru the gates of heaven. He honorably served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. A flying member of the 58th bomb wing, 462nd bomb group super fortress B 29's station on the island of Tinian in the South Pacific. Stephen was retired from the Hoover Co. after thirty years of service and was also a faithful member and usher of The Canton Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his loving family, Connie (John) Garner, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Stephen E. Mikstay, of North Canton; grandsons, John (Laura) and Jason (Rachael) Garner; and great-granddaughters, Ava and Madilyn Garner. Stephen was an avid bowler and golfer and will be greatly missed. He also enjoyed the fellowship of many friends and was a soul winner for Jesus Christ.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at The Canton Baptist Temple, with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the services AT THE CHURCH (515 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stephen's name to The Canton Baptist Temple or the organization of your choice. To God be the glory even so come quickly Lord Jesus.
