Beverly J. Miner
age 63 of Minerva, formerly of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013. Her death followed a 19 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, complicated by cancer. She was born on June 22, 1950 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Evelyn (Mendelein) Halco. In 1968, she graduated from Washington High School where she was a member of the Pep Club. Throughout her life, Beverly volunteered at the County Fair where she enjoyed feeding the rabbits. She enjoyed needlepoint and had a cat named Obie. She worked at Stark Plastics for 10 years. She had a strong faith and a great attitude, despite her affliction. She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Massillon. Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her former husband, Gary Miner and her friend, Fanny Wiley.
She is survived by her brother, Dennis Halco; a son and daughter-in-law, and aunts, Katie Halco, Isabel Halco and Dorothy (Russ) Scheetz; and many cousins. Also surviving is her good friend, Gloria Sharp. The family wishes to extend thanks to Harbor Light Hospice and the staff at Great Trails Care Center for their special care.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Rev. John Telloni officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:30–11 a.m.
