Laverne “Vern” L. Zwick 1928-2016
Vern L. Zwick of Louisville, Ohio passed away Nov. 3, 2016 at the Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center at the age of 87. He was born Dec. 23, 1928 in Harrisburg, the son of Lester and Zola (Moulin) Zwick. He was a retired salesman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. Vern was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg and was an active member of the church Senior Citizens group.
Vern is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Viola (Burgess) of the home; son, Les “Joe” (Pam) Zwick of Harrisburg; daughters, Debra Walker of Alliance and Brenda (Danny) Gaddis of Louisville; brother, Dale (Carol) Zwick of Alliance; sisters, Eleanor Griffith of Sebring, Shirley Beltz of Louisville and Dorothy Mathie of Louisville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Anne Zwick of Canton and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Vern is preceded in death by his son, Gary Zwick; daughter, Sandra Billman and one grandchild.
Vern's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. His mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Mancini officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center and Harbor Light Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Vern.
