Mattie Maye (Pugh) Farmer

Mattie Maye Pugh Farmer, 86, of Martinsville passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville.
She was born Jan. 27, 1929 in Rugby to the late Moses Warfield Pugh and Martha Waddell and was also preceded in death by her husband Thelbert Farmer.
Surviving are two daughters and husbands Toni and Dale McHarque of Statesville, N.C., and Tammy and David McVadon of Nebo, N.C.; two sisters and husbands Wilma and Rev. Virgil Soots of Collinsville and Betty Jo Arruza of Newton, N.C. Four grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service was held Thursday, March 27, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel in Independence. Interment followed in Corinth Cemetery in Rugby, with Rev. Rex Hall officiating. The family received friends on Thursday one hour preceding the funeral service.
