Obituary

Eva Halsey Campbell, 85, of Troutdale, the Grant Community, died Dec. 29, 2017, at the Smyth County Community Hospital/Mountain States Health Alliance in Marion.
She was born Oct. 8, 1932 to Thomas C. and Nannie Suitt Halsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson Campbell.
Survivors include two sons and spouses, Dennis and Cookee Campbell of Rural Retreat, and Bobby and Diane Campbell of Mouth of Wilson; brothers and spouses, Rex Halsey of Independence, Tommy and Hazel Halsey of Mouth of Wilson, and Pastor Doug and Jean Halsey of Mouth of Wilson; sister, Louise Adams of Piney Creek, N.C.; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at Campbell's request. Burial will be in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson, N.C.
