Florence Elizabeth Shumate, 64, of Max Meadows, died May 22, 2012 in Radcliff, Ky.
She was born Oct. 6, 1947 in Fries to the late Francis and Stells Bourne Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Shumate.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Tim Shumate of Radcliff, and Andy and Carrie Shumate of Galax; two grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Inez Williams and Maggie McKenzie, both of Galax, Mable and Garnett Stuart of Independence, and Helen and Donald Higgins of South Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eulice and Wilma Campbell of Max Meadows, and Dallas and Clara Campbell of Fries; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held June 9, 2012 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel in Galax with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating.
