Ayers, Joann  
Joann Ayers ANDERSON, S.C. Joann Rogers Ayers, 76, of Anderson, S.C. passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at her residence. Born in Williamston, S.C. to the late DeWitt Rogers and Eunice Irby Rogers, she was the spouse to the late Ray Ayers, a member of Freedom Center Church, worked in retail at F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store for 42 years. She is survived by sons: Lamar Ayers, and Bobby Ayers (Denise), brothers: Duane Rogers (Annette), Gary Rogers (Nancy), and Ray Rogers (Sandra), sister: Bonnie Bryant (Morris). Grandchildren: Jordan Campbell (Lee), Jannah Kelley (Zach), 5 great-grandchildren, and she is also survived by her loving mother-in-law: Helen Ayers. In addition to her parents and spouse, she is predeceased by a sister Christine Lanning. Funeral services will be held at Freedom Center Church on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Phil Sears officiating. Burial will follow in New Silverbrook Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The family will be at their respective homes. Barabara Clinkscales WILLIAMSTON, S.C. Barbara Jean Clinkscales age 75 of 18 Randall St passed Tuesday at the AnMed Health Center. She was born in Anderson County and was the daughter of the late Paris Posey and Nannie Marshall. She was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters Marilyn Clinkscales, Betty Richardson, and Shirley Blanding. One son Michael Clinkscales. Three sisters Slyvenia White, Helen Byrd, and Virginia Ware. One brother Robert Marshall. Three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at New HopeWell Baptist Church, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening 7 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Services Entrusted to The Holloway's Funeral Home Inc. The family is at the home.

Infant William Hamby BELTON, S.C. William Todd Hamby, Infant son of Brandon Lee and Lesley Blair Hamby, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents; he is also survived by his sisters: Kyley Smith and Delilah White; grandparents: Trina Hamby and James McCord. He is predeceased by his grandfather Todd Hamby. Graveside services at Garden of Memories will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. officiated by Rev. Daryle Hawthrone, Rev. Dale Singleton, and Rev. Roger Fleming. Sue P. McAlister ANDERSON, S.C. Maude Bernice "Sue" Phillips McAlister, age 92, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015. Born on January 22, 1923 in Central, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Andrew Phillips and Maude Oates Phillips. Mrs. McAlister was a homemaker and member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Survivors include her children: Anita Fay Floyd of Indianapolis, IN, Malcolm Anthony McAlister MD of Anderson, SC, Philip Stanley McAlister and wife, Mary of Anderson, SC, Van Johnson McAlister and wife, Carol of Ballground, GA, and Don Allen McAlister and wife, Christian of Anderson, SC; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McAlister was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon J. McAlister, six brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. The Graveside Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC officiated by Reverend Jeff Davis. McClam III and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In addition to her father and spouse, she is also survived by children: Jake R., Jasper E., and Aryssa K. McClam; brother and sister-in-law: Eric and Kathy Gillespie; grandparents: Mary Gillespie and Kathie Moore; and father and mother-in-law: Curt and Regina McClam. In addition to her mother, she is also predeceased by her grandfather Cecil B. Gillespie. Born in England she was the daughter of the late Edward and Natalie Davies. She was a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Donnie E. Nix; sons: David Nix (Tarra), Idris and Paul Walker; daughter Tina Walker; brothers: Idris and Victor Davies; sister Pauline Habershaw; grandchildren: Brandon Nix (Kelsey), Kadie Nix, Trevor Patterson (Brandie), Candace Vaughn (Billy), Jennifer Walker, Florence Walker, and Brandi Davidson (Richard); and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by grandchild Bumper. Silverstein, Phil - Anderson  
Phil Silverstein ANDERSON, S.C. Phillip Silverstein, 85, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House. He was born January 26, 1930, in Winston- Salem, N.C., the youngest of four boys born to Benjamin and Rebecca Silverstein. During the Korean Conflict, Phil served in the U.S. Army as a medical librarian at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. In 1965, he opened PHIL Jewelers on Main Street. He has won numerous awards and is often credited with saving downtown Anderson. He was leader, teacher and mentor to many, but above all he was a wonderful husband and fabulous father. Among the many things he taught us is that anything can be accomplished with kindness, generosity, humor and hard work. He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn, whom he adored; his children, Jan Hillman and husband, Dan and Benjie Silverstein and wife, Christi; his brother, Jules Silbert and wife, Nancy; and his three precious grandchildren, Hannah Hillman, Phillip and Adam Silverstein. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Amy Frances Silverstein and Jon Fogel Silverstein and two brothers, Morton and Al Silverstein. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Old Silver Brook Cemetery conducted by Dr. Robert Kimmel and Dr. Tom Richie.
