Joseph Boyd Camak, Jr. died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his home. Dr. Camak is survived by his wife of 42 years, DeanFant Camak, daughter, Dorothy Dean Camak, sons, Marshall Fant Camak and his wife, Sarah LaRue Camak, and Joseph Boyd Camak, III and his wife, Sara Nicolette C a m a k , m o t h e r , D o w n i e M . C a m a k , s i s t e r , J o y c e Fischetti, and brother, James M. Camak. Dr. Camak loved all of his friends and family and all of his precious pediatric dental patients. Dr. Camak loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and became a born again Christian 22 years ago. His family is comfortedknowing that this precious man is at peace and now with Jesus. To God Be the Glory for Boyd's life! A celebration of Dr. Camak's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at SullivanKingMortuary, 3205 Hwy 81 North. The family will receive friends following the service. All of us who loved him so much appreciate your prayers. Dean, I am very sad to learn of Boyd's passing. I can still see him sitting next to me at McCants. Even during the middle school years, Boyd was a kind person with a great smile and unexpected wit. These qualities are still reflected in the words of his patients and their families. My heart reaches out to you, your family and his during this difficult time. May the cherished memories of 46+ yrs, combined with faith, keep his spirit alive and give you strength.

Mrs. Camak, family and Dental staff,
We are all so saddened to hear about Dr. Camak. Dr. Camak has been our children's dentist for 12 + years now and they all love him. Especially our daughter, Deedra. He always treated her special. He always told her that she was special to him and he once even sent her a card for her birthday.
He was so good with all of them. He used the Barney mask when they were little and even when they were older made them comfortable with any procedure.
We will all miss you Dr. Camak. You were a special person and we always enjoyed visiting with you. You will be missed.
We pray that God keep you all close and comfort you during your time of grief and after. God bless each of you. It was a blessing to our family to have known this wonderful man.

Boyd administered the SC State Pediatric Dental Specialty Board to me in 1989, and I suspect many pediatric dentists endured the same most pleasant experience over the years. Consequently, we remained good professional friends for the past 25 years. I will certainly miss Boyd every day that I practice and am saddened by his unexpected passing. I know many other pediatric dentists are too. Godspeed Boyd, you were the absolute best. Godspeed.

Dr. Camak has meant so much to the children and parents of Anderson and the surrounding areas. My children are now 37, 32 and 27 and they loved him soo much, To the family, thank you for sharing him with us. May God comfort and keep you .

So sad to hear this news today. Dr. Camak was a wonderful dentist to Troup and Kip. They will miss him dearly. He always had a special way with them to help them feel at ease with any checkups or procedures. They also got a kick out of seeing what kind of socks he would be wearing that day. :)

Madilyn and I were so saddened to hear of Dr. Camak's passing. He and Dorothy always made her feel so cherished, whether she was in the dentist chair or out and about in town. Boyd was not only my cousin, he was also a kind, gifted man who helped my family both professionally and personally. I am sure he will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may the family have the peace that comes through their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
