Linda Kreher Obituary

LINDA KREHER
DECEMBER 4, 1946 - JUNE 25, 2011
FAIR PLAY, SC - Linda Leanne Kemmerer Kreher, greatly loved wife of John Pierre "Pete" Kreher and friend to all who knew her, slept peacefully into eternity with her Lord and Savior at 8:15pm on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Cottingham Hospice Home in Seneca shortly after admittance. Her husband Pete, brother, Bryan Kemmerer and sister-in-law Phyllis Kemmerer, along with their sons Christopher, Richard (his wife Claudia and son Luc), and Jonathon, mourn her passing. Linda, born December 4, 1946, to Reuben and Lucille Kemmerer, grew up in Bethlehem, PA, graduated from Kutztown College in 1968 (completing her Master's work several years later), and pursued her dream to be a teacher of children. Her elementary school teaching career in Lawrenceville, Georgia, spanned 30 years in which she nurtured, prepared, and encouraged two generations of her beloved children while she and husband Pete, married 40 years, built a love and faith filled life in their church and community.
Linda enjoyed boating, tennis, gardening, music, and reading; but her true passions were serving family and friends. All who knew her remember her positive outlook, compassionate nature, and selfless giving. Her pursuit of an active faith included serving as church choir and worship committee member, Elder in both Buford Presbyterian and Fair Play Presbyterian Churches, Communion steward, and more recently, Clerk of Session in Fair Play Presbyterian Church. After her retirement, Linda provided tax services at HandR Block in Seneca.
Her visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Fair Play Presbyterian Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm led by the Reverend Deborah Foster, her Pastor. Inurnment will be in Bethlehem, PA, after a second Memorial Service there, at the convenience of the family. Linda's wishes are for donations in lieu of flowers to Fair Play Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society. Her family thanks Hospice of the Foothills and Cottingham House for their compassionate support and service.

Linda was a lovely, caring, and inspiring woman. I am lucky to have known her and to have had the opportunity to teach with her at Suwanee Elementary. May God be with you, Pete.

Linda was my mentor and co-worker in Grade 2 at Suwanee ES in Georgia for many years. She was an inspiration to me as she exemplified the qualities of a model teacher and good friend. We will all miss her.
