Minnie Ruth Davenport, age 86, of 1620 Pinson Farm Road, Belton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born in Anderson County, on February 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Clayton Jones and the late Dessie Martin Jones. She was a graduate of Belton High School. Minnie Ruth retired from Duke Power after 37 years of service. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Belton.
She was the wonderful and devoted wife of 58 years to John Charles Davenport; the loving mother to Debbie Davenport Blume and her husband Butch, of Williamston, SC and Beth Davenport McGee and her husband Shawn, of Iva, SC; she was affectionately known as "Ma Ma" to her five grandchildren, Katie Blume Moody, Amy Blume Grubbs, Reid McGee, Kyle McGee and Meghan McGee and to her three great-grandchildren, Jake Moody, Graham Moody and Miller Grubbs. She is also survived by her sister, Grace Jones, of Belton, SC; and two nephews, Larry Jones and Buddy Warnock.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Vivian Little, Ethel Warnock, Jimmy Jones and Grady Jones.
The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Garden of Memories, in Belton with Reverend T. Dale Lynch officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation following the service.
The family will be at the residence.
