Joan Margaret Keating Stover, age 70, of 116 Midway Drive, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, IL on February 16, 1944, she was a daughter of the late William Keating and the late Louise Bilski Keating. For 52 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of Charles Thomas "Tom" Stover, Sr, of the residence.
Following graduation from high school, Mrs. Stover worked in retail sales for most of her career, most recently at Cracker Barrel in Anderson, where she was a sales associate for 4 years. Joan was an avid golfer who played often at the Anderson Country Club where she was a 6 time women's club champion. She was most passionate about her family and friends whose relationships she cherished. She was a very active supporter of Anderson Interfaith Ministries.
In addition to her husband, Tom, she is survived by 2 sons, Charles T. Stover, Jr. and his wife, Ginny, of Greenville, William C. Stover of Longmont, CO; 1 brother, Edwin Keating of Lake Bluff, IL; 1 sister, Patricia Sheen and husband, Jim, of Cotopaxi, CO; and 3 grandchildren, Lauren and Emily Stover, and Serena Hiebler.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a brother, William Keating and a twin sister, Jean, who died shortly after birth.
The family will be at the residence, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, May 10, 2014, as they honor and celebrate Joan's life from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to Anderson Interfaith Ministries, 1202 S. Murray Avenue, Anderson, SC 29624.
