Jack Hunt
WESTMINSTER, S.C.
Jack Leo Hunt, 86, widower of the late Aline Jones Hunt, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
Born in Westminster, he was the son of the late Charlie Ralph and Alma Dunlap Hunt. Mr. Hunt was the founder and publisher of the Westminster News. He was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a former Westminster City Council Member. Mr. Hunt was a veteran of the US Navy having served aboard the USS Wisconsin during WWII.
Survivors include sons, Joseph Ralph Hunt and Megin, of Marietta,Ga, and James David Hunt and wife Teena, of Seneca, SC; daughter Rachel Ann Hunt and Tim; 3 grandchildren, Joseph Barrett, Menley and Audrey Hunt; and 3 great - grandchildren, Carter, Matalyn, and Sidney Barrett.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by brother, Bruce Hunt.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, August 4, 2014 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. Private burial will follow.
The family will receive friends from 11 - 12 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2014, prior to the service at the funeral home. The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 204 N. Isundega St., Westminster, SC 29693.
