Harvey Clarence Wilson CONCORD Mr. Harvey Clarence Wilson, 83, went to be home with the Lord Tuesday, March 12, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Friday, March 15), at Poplar Grove Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Jimmy Barrett and Bobby Tallent. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Harvey was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Cabarrus County, to the late Roy Deleslie and Pearl Newton Wilson. He is also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Keith Wilson. Harvey was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, walking through the woods and riding his tractor. One of his fondest moments was rocking on the front porch with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Russ Wilson; daughter, Lucretia Miller Wilson and husband, Garon; son, Harvey Deleslie Wilson and wife, Deb; daughter-in-law, Diane Wilson Hoggard and husband, Ray; sister, Ann Wilson Hartsell; brother, Jerry Lee Wilson; grandchildren, Randy Biddy, Tommy Wilson and wife, Stacie, Dale Wilson Jr., Shaun Miller, Brandi Wilson Tucker and husband, Rusty and Dana Leanne Wilson and boyfriend, Jarrett; great-grandchildren, Lacey Nicole Wilson and Taylor Marie Wilson; special nephew, Mike Hartsell; and special cousin, Bud Newton.
