Larry James Sheets CONCORD Larry James Sheets, 69, of Concord, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast. His death was unexpected. Mr. Sheets was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Wilkes County, a son of the late Larmon and Rebecca Wingler Sheets. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Guy and Clyde Sheets; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Bolen and Shirley Dixon. Larry retired from Overnight Transportation Company after 30 years of service and was the owner and operator of Larry's Paint and Body Shop. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Funeral services for Mr. Sheets will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 6), at Whitley's Funeral Home, with Dr. James Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today prior to the services at the funeral home. Larry is survived by his wife, Naomi Hudler Sheets; a son, James Mitchell Sheets and wife, Nancy, of Concord; a daughter, Rhonda Starnes and husband, Floyd, of Stanfield; two grandsons, Greg and Cory Sheets; and two granddaughters, Maggie and Maddie Starnes; and a number of nieces and nephews.
