Martha Litaker KANNAPOLIS Martha "Sue" Lipe Litaker, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Jason and Margaret Lipe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Spencer Litaker; a daughter, Linda Diane Litaker; and a brother, James Edward Lipe. Sue retired from Cannon Mills after 39 years, where she had worked in the # 1 and # 5 Weave Rooms. She was a member of the Kannapolis Church of God. Sue loved her work family and her church family, but most of all loved spending time with children and grandchildren. She loved planting flowers in her yard, baking, making pies and quilting. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Kannapolis Church of God, officiated by the Rev. Sam Crisp. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. She is survived by her daughters, Janet L. Jordan, of China Grove and Pamela Dancy, of China Grove; four grandchildren, Chad Stephens, Christopher Griffin, Meggan Dancy and Christopher Jordan; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Hazel Lipe Moore, of China Grove.
