Mary Ball

Mary Ball CONCORD Mary Ramsey Ball passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, April 12, 2012. She was born May 29, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, Va. She married Norman Ball in 1950. After serving in the Civil Air Patrol during WWII, Mary attended secretarial school and became the executive secretary for the President and CEO of Ruddick Corporation until she retired in 1984. She loved to knit, crochet and sew and took great pride in making beautiful things for her friends and family. Mary's pride and joy was her family. After having only one child, Janie, she felt so blessed to have six grandchildren. She loved being with them at every opportunity and enjoyed living next door to them for the last ten years. Mary was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a firm testimony that Jesus Christ lives and is her Savior and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Cary Deltoni Ramsey and Emma Kate McClanahan and her husband, Norman Ball. She is survived by her brother, Herman Ramsey of Spartanburg, S.C.; her daughter, Janie Dickson and her husband, Scott; her grandchildren, Josh Dickson and his wife Ivis, Spencer Dickson, Valerie Dickson, Jake Dickson, Megan Dickson and David Fritzler and his wife, Kendyl; beloved nieces and nephews and loving care providers. A celebration of Mary's life will be held Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1601 Cooper Street Kannapolis. There will be a visitation with friends just prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Missionary Fund, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1601 Cooper Street, Kannapolis, NC. Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in Landis is serving the Ball family.
