Laurel May Donaldson Smith KANNAPOLIS Mrs. Laurel May Donaldson Smith, 87, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Throop, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Donaldson and Edith Emery Donaldson. She retired as an office manager for an Ophthalmologist. Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist faith. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and also enjoyed reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ronald Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Susan Jean Scott, of Kannapolis and Sherryl Lynn Fradenburg, of Durham; two sons, Terrance James Oliver, of Verona, N.Y. and Thomas John Oliver, of Salt Lake City, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
