Ruby Raymer Obituary

Mrs. Ruby Raymer CONCORD Mrs. Ruby Jane Porter Raymer, 83, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at CMC-NorthEast. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Raymer was born June 23, 1928, in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Morris and Panthy Helms Porter Stallings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George V. Raymer; an infant son, Jimmy Raymer; a son, Danny E. Raymer, and a sister, Ruth Ha-gler. Ruby worked in her earlier years at Cannon Mills Plant 1 and Bangle Brothers Hosiery. She was a member of Near Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Hudson and her husband, Alvin, of Kannapolis; her sons, Gary V. Raymer and his wife, Carol, and Terry G. Raymer, all of Gastonia; a granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter, Sherri Raymer, and five additional grandchildren; 16 great-grand-children; and her step-brother, Bobby Stallings and his wife, Emma, of Concord. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Condolences may be left at www.wilkinsonfuneralhome.com. Wilkinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
