Fitzsimons, Mabel G. - Montrose  
Mabel G. Fitzsimons, 93, of Elk Lake, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Golden Living Manor, Tunkhannock. Mabel's husband, J. Walter Fitzsimons, predeceased her. She was born in Bridgewater Twp., to the late George Benjamin and Mary (Pickering) Holbrook. Surviving is her daughter, Odessa Cornell, South Montrose; two grandchildren and spouse, Ada and Terry Hollister, South Montrose, and John Rosser, South Montrose; three great grandchildren, James White, Samantha Hollister, Brandon Hollister; five great-great grandchildren, Alice, Owen, Kenley, Rachael, and Xavier; brother, Edgar Holbrook, Montrose; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Kelly Rosser; two sisters, Esther Shimer, Anna Kirchmier; two brothers, Arthur and George Holbrook, Jr. Mabel was a member of the Holy Name of Mary Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She made "ugly quilts" with her fellow parishioners; she use to make blankets for the Red Cross, and she made the church bulletins for Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Holy Name of Mary Church, with Rev. Philip Rayappan officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home prior to the Mass.
