Hugh Francis Bunnell, age 101, of Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Riverdale, Md., and Lawton, died on February 18, 2014 at Season's Hospice in Wilmington, Del.
Hugh graduated from Rush High School, Rush, in 1930 and The Pennsylvania State University in 1934. After teaching industrial arts in Reinerton, and Greenbelt, Md., he earned an MEd from the University of Maryland and served as a guidance counselor for Chestertown High School and as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of Maryland.
Hugh was a member of the Chestertown, Md., Rotary Club
and the Chillum, Md., Lions Club.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy May Gilbert Bunnell of York; daughter, Catharine E. Mincey of Hyattsville, Md.; and daughter-in-law Susan Purdy Bunnell of Wilmington, Del.
Hugh is survived by his sister Catharine E. Gardiner and family of Lafayette, La.; daughter, Lois A. Bunnell Pollock, her husband Donald R. Pollock Jr., their children Ren and Lauren, all of Bowie, Md.; son, H. Timothy Bunnell, his wife Martha H. Stow, and their children Matthew and Jessica Bunnell, Nathan and Jeffrey Elton, their families and five great grand children.
Internment to be held in the late spring at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Middletown Twp.
