Jane Lee Kahn, 87, of Clifton Springs, N.Y., died at home in Salisbury, Conn., on April 12, 2014.
Jane was born in Springville, on April 1, 1927, to the late Charles and Anna (Lathrop) Lee. She graduated from Penn State University
after which she moved to New York to begin a career as an interior designer. Shortly after marrying Joseph Kahn in 1953, they moved to 95 Clifton Springs, N.Y., where Jane remained until the summer of 2013.
Jane was known throughout her life for her independent spirit and devotion to her family, friends and church. While living in Clifton Springs, Jane participated in almost every imaginable volunteer activity, frequently in a leadership role. Among her longest running pleasures were singing in the church choir and reading with the ladies in Tourist Club. When not involved in community and church activities, Jane enjoyed skiing, gardening, decorating, and entertaining.
Jane is survived by her sons, Joseph Kahn Jr. (Linda), and James P. Kahn (Mary); daughter, Barbara Kahn Moller (Karsten). She is also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; niece, Karen Lee Leonard; nephews, Larry Lee, Alan Craig, Jay and Phil Reimel, all of the Montrose area.
Jane was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Kahn, of Clifton Springs, N.Y.; brother, Robert C. Lee, Montrose; sister, Betty Lee Reimel, Montrose.
A memorial service was held at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church on April 26, 2014. Donations in Jane's memory may be made to the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund.
