Lois Waterman

Lois B. Waterman, 77, of Hallstead, God called her home on August 26, 2012. Next to her was the love of her life and husband of 59 years, Donald, and also surrounded by her loving family.

She was predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Jessica Waterman, mother, Fanny Smallacombe, her sister, Joyce Hall, and her brother, Robert Smallacombe.

Lois is also survived by four children: Debra and Donald Dissinger, Donald and Barb Waterman Jr., Kevin and Tami Waterman, and Audrey Waterman and Connie Sheridan; six grandchildren: Stacy and Mark Wolfe, Anthony and Katrina Dissinger, Savina and Peter Smith, Donald Waterman III., Christopher Waterman, and Amanda Smoak; seven great grandchildren: Parker, Anthony, and Gavin Dissinger, David and Kelsey Wolfe, Natalia and Marshall Smith; a sister, Shelby and Robert Colwell; a brother, Harold and Carole Smallacombe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Patsy and Jerry Hermann, Ira and Lil Waterman, Francis and Nancy Waterman, Doris Waterman Cobb, James and Viola Herbert, Louis Hall, and Mina Smallacombe; a special friend, Audrey LaHoda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois and Donald owned and operated The Corner Store in Great Bend for many years. They also enjoyed 23 years together in North Carolina, working, fishing, and boating. She loved with an all encompassing passion being with family and friends. She had a zest for bringing everyone together, making wonderful memories. Her greatest joy and achievement was forming and maintaining the close relationships she had with her family.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, August 30, at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 207 Locust Street, Montrose, PA 18801.
