Thomas Brogan

Thomas J. Brogan, 92, of Montrose, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Gracious Living Estates, South Montrose.
Born June 3, 1921 in the Montrose Area, he was the son of the late James H. and Anna (O'Donnell) Brogan.

Tom was a 1939 graduate of Montrose High School, and was employed by the former Vitale Ford from 1971 until his retirement at age 87. During the early 1950s, he worked for the former Coca Cola bottler in Montrose and then worked 18 years at the former Bendix Corporation in South Montrose.

Tom served in the United States Army during World War II and was part of the Occupation Force in Germany.

He was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church, a former member of the Montrose Club for over 60 years, the New Milford Racquet Health Club, and the former Montrose Tennis and Outing Club.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, Gene George, of Endicott, N.Y.; nephew and spouse, Gene and Peggy George, of Endwell, N.Y.; his nephew's spouse, Christine George, of Endicott, N.Y.; a cousin, Rita LeStrange, Binghamton, N.Y.; and good friends Tim and Laurel Canfield, of South Montrose.

Tom was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth George, brothers, Lawrence and Richard, and a nephew, Phillip George.

Services were held Friday at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Montrose and continue d with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Montrose. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the funeral home.
