Joan M. Gathany, 81, of Great Bend, was reunited with her husband of 52 years, Everett, on December 5, 2012.

Everett predeceased her in 2003 and a daughter, Tina in 1996.

Joan is survived by her children, Diane J. Deck, Cynthia and Roger Romain, Michael Gathany, and Joe and Debra Gathany; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Kilmer and Nancy Baker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jim Beavan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was an avid quilter. She took great joy in making quilts for her family and friends. Joan was a life time member of the Great Bend Hose Co. 6 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and the United Methodist Community Church. She was an excellent cook and an accomplished baker. Joan and Everett spent several years living in Florida following their retirement. She will be deeply missed by everyone.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Community Church, Great Bend, PA. Inurnment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from from 2-3, at the church, prior to the service.
