Richard C. Sterling, 61, of Montrose, went home to be with the Lord on October 19, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Mary.

He is also survived by three daughters, Sharon and Terry Mortenson, April and Kenneth Fowler, and Sierra and Dennis Robinson; eight grandchildren, Sean, Kurtis, Kenny, Malayna, Clarissa, Alyssa, Jayden, and Dennis; two brothers, Gary and Terry Ann Sterling and Terry Sterling; the mother of his children, Beatrice Phelps; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Jayne; his parents, Ralph and Cora Sterling; a granddaughter, Faith Muzzy; and two brothers, William and Ralph Sterling.
Rick had a passion for "pickin' and grinning.'" He was a former fire fighter with the Elk Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He was a proud veteran, serving with the United States Army in the Vietnam War. From a young age, he worked on a dairy farm, eventually to be employed as a feed delivery driver. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Friends called Tuesday evening prior to the service.
Inurnment will take place in North Flats Cemetery, Laceyville.
Contributions toward the funeral expenses would be appreciated.
