Charlotte B. Demmer passed away November 9, 2013 at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore. Charlotte was a wonderful wife to Peter P. Demmer, Jr. who predeceased her this past January. They had over 59 blessed years together.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born to the late Earle G. Bishop and Nora A. Welliver in Montrose, on June 4, 1935.
Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, LuAnn and Levi Ransom, Nicholson, Donna and Edwin Giles, Prompton; two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Demmer, Johnson City, N.Y., Robert Demmer, Kingsley; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brad (Kristen) Ransom, Tim (Carol) Ransom, Aaron (Jesika) Ransom, Brittany and Valerie Demmer; seven great grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Andrew, Kolten, Rebeka, Levi, and Kaylee; several sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, William J. Bishop, and grandson, Matthew Donald Ransom.
She devoted her early years to being a farmer's wife, homemaker, and raising her family. She was always there for her family, they came first. She waited until her children were grown or on their own before she worked outside of the home. One of her jobs, was babysitting children from the community. The children loved her. She labored at a few different places in Montrose; the last being the Susquehanna County Courthouse Assessment Office from which she retired in the late 1990's.
One of Charlotte's favorite things in life was music. Many times she hosted a "jam session" at her home, with different family members getting together to sing and play musical instruments. Her ability to "play-by-ear" was a most treasured gift God gave her. Mom had played piano and used her unique talent for special music at the East Bridgewater Community Church, where she had been a member for many years.
She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, social-networking, and spending time with her friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Compton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
