Mrs. Eleanor M. Bullock Kipar, age 86, of Meshoppen, PA passed away at her home on Jersey Hill, Auburn Twp., on Wednesday evening, September 19, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was born in East Rush, on February 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Jay Bullock who passed away in 1958 and Elizabeth Kiefer Bullock who passed away in 1983. All of her life, Eleanor lived in Susquehanna County, where she graduated in 1943 from the Rush High School.
On June 10, 1944, Eleanor married Kurt Kipar, of the Auburn Center area. Eleanor and Kurt were married for 61 years, until Kurt's death on September 17, 2005. For over 41 years, Eleanor and Kurt owned and operated a dairy farm, Kipar Farms, in Jersey Hill, the same farm that is still in the Kipar family.
She was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church; and in her spare time she enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Surviving are her sons and their wives, David and Susan Kipar, and Paul and Sue Kipar, all of Meshoppen. Her grandsons and their wives, Michael and Amy Kipar, Patrick and Arleta Kipar, Ryan and Megan Kipar, and Alex Kipar and special friend, Nicole Nanni; great grandchildren, Rylee Jean Kipar, Kurt Patrick Kipar, and Victoria Grace Kipar. Eleanor was looking forward to the arrival of twin great-grandbabies later this year. Also surviving is a sister Merle Wesley, of Tunkhannock; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin Trudy Makowski of Scranton.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Bullock, who passed away on Oct. 3, 1987; and a nephew Stanley Bullock, who passed away on Jan. 1, 1976.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 25, 2012, from the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tom Mott of the church officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Hill Cemetery. Family called at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, on Monday, September 24, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations may do so to the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, PO Box 159, Meshoppen, PA 18630 for flood recovery.
