Frances E. Baker, 90, of South Montrose, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose.

She was born to the late E. Smith and Margaret (Wells) LaRue.
Surviving are her five children and their significant others: John R. and Trudy Baker of Montrose, Marsha A. Baker of Tunkhannock, James L. and Gloria Baker of Springville, Sharon L. and Arthur Stinson of Montrose, and William F. Baker and fiancé Cathy of East Lemon; brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Sally LaRue of Florida; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in 1986 by her husband John E. Baker whom she married May 16, 1953, and brother, Richard "Scuffy" LaRue.
Frances worked for the U.S. government and then for Susquehanna County as the chief deputy prothonotary/clerk of courts until her retirement. She was an avid reader, enjoyed needlework, and her pet cat, "Boots."
A Funeral Service will be held today, Wednesday, May 11, at 2 p.m., at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, with Rev. Jane M. Pykus, of the South Montrose Community Church, officiating. Visitations will be noon-2 p.m. Interment will be in the South Montrose Cemetery.
