Johanna B. Troy, 82, of Montrose, passed away, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Kindred Hospital of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes Barre. Her husband Harold E. Troy predeceased her in 1985.

Born April 25, 1931 in West Wyoming, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Ptasek) Gashi.
She was known to the community as "the money lady," walking around town daily searching for loose change that she would later donate to local organizations. Johanna also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, working in the cafeteria at the Square where she resided. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting and volunteered many hours with My Brother's Keeper making quilts for the homeless.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Joann Conklin Riley and Pat Riley of Tunkhannock; Rebecca Troy of Montrose; son, Gary Troy of Factoryville; grandchildren, Erika, Donald, Joseph, Jennifer, George, Jason, Matthew; numerous great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Agnes Gashi of Wyoming, Pa.,; nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents & husband she was predeceased by a daughter, Madalen Decker; grandson, Jonathan; great grandchild, Kodie; and a brother, Joseph Gashi.

Services were held Saturday, March 29, at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose. Visitation was held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
