Margaret B. Ashman, 98, of Lititz, and formerly of Montrose, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013. Her husband Kenneth Ashman predeceased her in 2003.

She was born on July 23, 1914 at the family farm on Williams Pond near Montrose. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Lewis) Brown.
A graduate of Montrose High School, she worked at IBM during World War II where she met her late husband. His employment took them to Massachusetts, Maryland and 12 years in England and Germany. Their love for travel took them throughout Europe, Asia and Africa.
Upon retirement they eventually settled in Florida until Ken's death. At that time she moved north closer to family and into a retirement community in Lancaster.
Margaret was an avid golfer, enjoyed entertaining and was known for having an engaging personality.
She is survived by step children, Robert Ashman and Nancy Burger. There are numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is also survived by nephews, Donald Felker, Norman Brown and Gerald Brown; and nieces Linda Christy and Sandra Lathrop. There are numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
A step son, Kenneth Ashman, Jr. predeceased her.
A Memorial Service with Rev. Steven Felker officiating will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Montrose at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013.
