Margie M. Bauer, 72, died on July 8, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on August 12, 1940 in Envansville, Minn.

She met her husband, Robert C. Bauer, in Sunnyvale, Calif., while he was serving in the United States Navy. Together, they built a family in his hometown of Allentown and Endwell, N.Y., while he worked for IBM; and retired together in 1992 to a small farm in Forest Lake.

They were married for 53 years and have four children: Christine Sproles of Lititz, Eric Bauer of San Diego, Calif., Valerie Bauer of Montrose, and Craig Bauer of Forest Lake.

She is also survived by her husband, Robert; a brother, Ken of Clallam Bay, Wash.; two sisters, Joyce Koffler of Malalla, Ore., and June Rivers of Reno, Nev.

She loved to sew and quilt, and to can or freeze the harvest from their large garden. She loved country life and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Based on her wishes service will be private.
