Ronald L. Chandler, 76, of Montrose, passed away, Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose.

Born March 19, 1938 in Chicago, Ill.,, he was the son of the late Jerry and Madge (Hayward) Chandler.
A graduate of Hope College, he became a teacher and earned his Master's degree from Boston University. He taught in Sanford and Portland Maine, Shippensburg, and eventually retiring from Harrisburg Area School after 38 years of teaching.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Montrose, where he was a part of the Audiovisual Team. Professionally, he was a member of Pennsylvania State Education Association and was the past President of a local chapter. Additionally, he was a member of the National Railroad Historic Society and was a train enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jane Chandler of Montrose; sons, Kendal T. Chandler, and David H. Chandler, both of Nazareth.
Services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. from St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Montrose. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.
