Dorothy M. Severcool, 76, of Montrose, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose.

She was born in Bridgewater Twp., to the late Maurice and Pauline (Bennett) Bush.

Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Irma and Phil Beardslee, Springville, Bonnie and Robert Kinner, Vestal, N.Y.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Becky Severcool, Montrose, Dale and Deb Severcool, Montrose, Randy and Gerilyn Severcool, Montrose; brother, Wesley Bush, Meshoppen; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Bill Miller, Brooklyn, Dora Mae and Ted Decker, Amherst, Va., Teresa Chandler, Swanzey, N.H.; close family friend, Bertha Nichols, Montrose; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; an aunt, uncles, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Harold L. Severcool; grandson, Nick Severcool; brother, Foster Bush; and brother-in-law, Daryl Chandler.

Dorothy sold Avon for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, canning, and doing genealogy. She liked listening to music and going to dances; when she was able and collecting Cardinals. She baby sat many children over the years; but most important in her life was her family; Dorothy was always the first to arrive, and the last to depart any family gathering.

A Funeral Service was held Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Spering, of the Fairdale United Methodist Charge, officiating. Interment will be in the Fairdale Cemetery. Visitations were on Sunday at the funeral home.
