I am so sorry to learn of Roxanne's passing. She was always a friendly face in the adjunct room at Ivy Tech and was especially helpful to me the one recent semester when I taught an English class in addition to my normal load of math classes. Ivy Tech was blessed to have her on the faculty.

Roxanne was my Aunt. She was such a caring, calm, polite, and gentle-spirited person. She had the utmost integrity and always put her family first. When I was young, she would play games with me, tell me stories and take me to fun places. She made me feel loved and special. When she became a mom, she did the same for her son. The relationship she had with her teenage son was AMAZING: She was a great listener. She was always supportive and encouraging. She was very slow to anger. She always said she loved him and was very, very proud of him. She was not only his mom, but also his friend. They were very close and she was so grateful to have him in her life. My Aunt Roxanne embodied all the qualities I aspire to have as a mom to my own children. As my family and I struggle to accept her passing, my heart especially aches for my cousin, Jon. My aunt raised a kind, thoughtful, smart, AMAZING young man....please keep him, Jonathan Martz, and his dad in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Roxanne was my mentee when she began at Ivy Tech, but she was a natural. I heard a lot of praise from her students about her kindness and helpfulness. I always enjoyed our quick chats in the hall, discussions about our sons at IPS 91, and our bond of being working moms of much loved only children. My heart goes out to her family, and especially Johnathan. She was so proud of you.

Roxanne was more than a dedicated teacher; she was a friend to her students as well, allowing them extra time to complete assignments so they could move onto the next class and hopefully graduate from Ivy Tech Community College.

She had a kind and thoughtful soul. I will miss not seeing her on Campus. May her memory be a blessing to Tom and Jonathon.

I am so saddened by the passing of Roxanne. I had known her at Ivy Tech where we shared ideas on writing and stories about our students. I will most certainly miss her smile and upbeat attitude, but most all her calm presence.
