Allen, Joan*  
Joan Allen 88, of Fairland, Indiana, passed away on May 18, 2015 in Indianapolis. Joan was born June 21, 1926, in Manchester, England to the late Cecilia and Thomas Wilkinson.  She met Corporal Marvin Glenn Allen and married him during WWII, after the wedding they moved to Virginia. They later moved to Shelby County and resided there for 62 years. She worked at RCA during the Elvis years, however much of her life and all of her love was devoted to raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed reading, traveling the world, watching Seinfeld, discussing politics and anything related to Great Britian. Family and friends were the passion of her life. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Marvin Glenn Allen; her daughter, Debra Armstrong; sons-in-law, Ronald Armstrong, Michael Beattey and Lowell Spencer, III (Past); siblings, Marion Pickford, Ron, Vincent, Sonny and Harold Wilkinson. Joan is survived by her children, Linda Beattey and Michael Allen; grandchildren, Shelley Spencer-Hellmich (Ron), Aaron Armstrong (Nikki), Eric Allen (Jennifer), and Angie Allen; great-grandchildren, Nico, Jenna, and  Eden Allen, and Paige Armstrong. She was a woman of fortitude and character and will be missed greatly. Services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 W. US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, with Pastor Carl Coffey officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service in the mortuary. Annis, Elmira F. Vermillion*  
Elmira F. Vermillion Annis 91, of Indianapolis, passed away May 18, 2015. Born June 13, 1923 in Columbus, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Oliver O. and Sophrona (Callam) Jones. She was a 1941 graduate of Columbus High School. Elmira worked as a foundry foreman with Chrysler Motor Company for over thirty years, then with the Central Indiana Counsel on Aging. She married Edgar Vermillion, who preceded her in death in1984. She then married Robert Annis, who also preceded her in death in 1999. An avid fisherman with husband Edgar, and she enjoyed travel with her husband Robert. She also enjoyed reading and yardwork. She was presented with the Elmira Annis Rise Scholarship from the Eli Lilly family school of Philanthropy on her 90th birthday, presented by fellow trustees of the R.B. Annis Educational Foundation. She was a supporter of Girl Scouts of America, Brown County Art Society, and a board member of R.B. Annis Foundation. She is survived by Daughter - in - Law, Becky Vermillion; sisters, Mae Henderson, and Jane Patterson; a sister - in - law, Billie Jo Hatfield; two grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Oliver Hugh Vermillion, and a granddaughter, Stacy Vermillion. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. S.R. 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Baker, Johnny Max "John"*  
Johnny "John" Max Baker 69, of Indianapolis, was called home to be with his Savior Jesus on May 18, 2015. He was born June 28th, 1945 to the late Woodrow and Mary Baker. John was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, son and more. For vocation, he spent his life in sales, however his enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family, watching his children and grandchildren play sports and golfing or fishing whenever he could. As a coach, John mentored a number of athletes at Heritage Christian School where into his retirement he could often be found in the stands of girls' basketball games or boy's football games. As a proud Army veteran he supported the Wounded Warrior Project. Like his father, John was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Most important to John was that others knew the love of Jesus Christ. John is survived by his wife Karen Baker, son John "Jib" Baker (wife Kendal), daughters Dawn Bruh (husband Adam), Tammy Moreno (husband Ray), and Eva Baker. His adored grandchildren include, David Baker, Zach Castro, Gabriel Copley, Savannah Baker, Kaysey Castro, Isaac Baker and Olivia Bruh; John's two sisters and brother-in-laws Barb and Larry Lukens and Sandy and Garnald Dennis, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Services celebrating the life of John will be held at: Horizon Christian Fellowship, 7702 Indian Lake Rd. Indianapolis, Indiana 46236, on Friday, May 22, 2015. Viewing from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with the funeral following. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorsproject.org .  John will be buried with full military honors on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Marion National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.

Beatty, David Richard*  
David Richard Beatty 81, passed away after a brief illness on May 10, 2015. He lived in Zionsville, Indiana, and was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dora Beatty, his brother Robert and sister, Rose Porter. He is survived by his brother, Carl, and wife, Lois Beatty; son, Steven Beatty; daughter, Susan Le Vay, and her husband, Dan Le Vay; son, John Beatty, and wife, Annette; and grandchildren: James and Jonathan Le Vay, Jordan, Cory and Jamie Beatty. Born December 2, 1933, Dave grew up in Clinton, Indiana. He served in the US Army and earned a BS and MS in Business and Economics at Indiana State University. Dave worked for Standard Oil and GTE, where he was named Secretary-Treasurer. During his career with GTE, Dave lived in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan.  Dave was an avid golfer, loved to read, enjoyed jazz music, and had many friends and family, with whom he was always generous in a time of need. A memorial service honoring Dave will be held at Broadway United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, May 30th, at 3:00 p.m. Services have been entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care.
